KemasBerkas Privacy Policy
KemasBerkas compresses images & PDFs, creates official ID-style photos, and converts between file formats — entirely inside your browser, with no server behind it.
Quick summary
- KemasBerkas compresses images & PDFs, creates official ID photos ("pas foto"), and converts file formats — all processed directly in your browser.
- There's no server behind it. Files you upload — including face photos for ID photos — are never sent outside your browser.
- No analytics, trackers, or ads in this extension.
- KemasBerkas never reads or modifies any web page — the only permission it requests is local storage for preferences.
01 · What is KemasBerkas
KemasBerkas is a browser extension for preparing registration files — images and PDFs — so they meet the size and format requirements of official Indonesian registration portals (CPNS/SSCASN, PPDB, LPDP, SNBT/SNPMB, BPJS Kesehatan, PPPK, DTKS Kemensos). Five tools in one extension: compress to a target size, ID photo (crop/resize/background swap), photo-to-PDF, PDF-to-JPG, and PDF merge.
02 · What data is processed, and where
Every file you select (photo, PDF) is processed entirely inside your browser, via Canvas and client-side compression/conversion libraries (pdf.js, pdf-lib — bundled inside the extension package, never fetched from any server). The result downloads straight to your computer through the browser's built-in download mechanism. No file, file metadata, or excerpt of any kind ever leaves your browser — because KemasBerkas has no backend server at all.
03 · What we don't do
- We don't collect, store, or transmit your files — including identity documents — to any server, because there is no server.
- We don't read or access any web page you visit — there's no content script and no website-access permission of any kind.
- We don't install analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party ad SDKs.
- We don't sell or share data with third parties — there's no data collected to share.
- We don't execute code from outside the extension package — pdf.js and pdf-lib are bundled statically, not loaded from a CDN.
04 · Permissions requested, and why
| Permission | What it's for |
|---|---|
storage |
Stores your own preference (last-used preset/tab) locally in the browser. Never contains any file content. |
activeTab, content_scripts, or host_permissions.05 · Preference storage
The only thing stored is a lightweight display preference (last-used preset or tab), via chrome.storage.local — stored locally on your device, never synced to any server.
06 · ID photos & identity documents
The "ID Photo" feature processes a face photo to produce an official ID-style photo (crop, resize, background color swap). This processing — including background-color detection for the swap — is purely pixel-level Canvas operations in your browser; it does not involve facial recognition, identity recognition, or sending data to anyone. The photo you upload only exists in browser memory while processing is in progress, and is not retained by the extension once you download the result or close the tab.
07 · Policy changes
If this policy changes, the "Effective" date at the top of this page will be updated. Because KemasBerkas doesn't collect your contact information, we can't notify you directly — please check this page occasionally if you want to be sure.
